301 E Scenic Dr, Pass Christian, MS 39571

Join us as we launch the American History Book Club at Pass Books. We will meet monthly on the third Thursday at 301 East Scenic.

The fee includes the purchase of the book and wine/beverages and hors d'oeuvres for the evening. Your book will be available for pickup from the Special-Order Order shelf in our Pass Christian location immediately after you register

Our first selection is Imani Perry's bestseller and National Book Award winner, South to America: A Journey Below the Mason-Dixon to Understand the Soul of a Nation. Perry is a native Alabaman and returns to the South to "consider it with fresh eyes. Her journey is full of detours, deep dives, and surprising encounters with places and people." Perry is the Hughes-Rogers Professor of African American Studies at Princeton University.

Scott Naugle will act as facilitator using his experience as adjunct professor at Tulane University

Lagniappe - Imani Perry will visit Pass Books on March 26th to discuss her newest book, Black in Blues. This will be an opportunity to ask her your questions about South to America.

There are only two rules:

1) Please read the book

2) Mark passages that you find significant, meaningful, and/or that you disagree with. This book club is participatory you will be asked for your thoughts on the selected book. We want to have a robust and lively discussion
